The Biggish Five
The Biggish Five is a syndicated comic strip centered around the offbeat adventures of Africa’s not-so-Big Five game.

The strip itself - a quick history.

Early in 2008, after beginning to feel disillusioned and slightly bored with Urban Trash, I decided that I wanted to start a brand new comic strip; something completely different to anything I had ever done before. After many weeks of throwing around failed concepts, the idea struck me: Africa’s Big Five game.
But with a difference.
They are anthropomorphic toddlers who exist in a fantastical game park somewhere in Africa.
My other - less anarchist - half, Janel, gave the nod, and, after no longer than three or four minutes of brainstorming with her, I settled on the name “The Biggish Five”, and my comic was born.
The first strip was officially published on Monday 30 June 2008.
The strip itself - current day.
At its heart, The Biggish Five is a parody of popular culture; it pokes fun at ourselves and all things contemporary.
Originally, I drew the strip in black and white; but after receiving numerous requests, I migrated to colour.
The Biggish Five appears daily from Monday to Sunday.
It is primarily syndicated via Rapport, Die Burger, IOL, The Times, iafrica.com, The Witness, The Big Issue (South Africa), News24, and the South African (London).
There are no books available yet.

In Afrikaans - my first strip in another language.
In mid-July 2008, The Biggish Five began its syndication in Afrikaans, in Die Burger, on Saturdays. It’s the first time that my work has been regularly published in a language other than English. Thankfully, the translating is done for me.
In Afrikaans, it is known as Die Groterige Vyf.
