Deborah Patta Versus Julius Malema
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 12:43Deborah Patta, from 3rd Degree, decided to sit down with ANC Youth League president, Julius Malema. Here is the video.
Here is a summary of Julius Malema’s conclusions:
In a nutshell, more or less.

Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 12:56
Thanks for the summary. Nothing surprising in there, so I’ll give the video a skip. Dumb interviewing Dumberer doesn’t sound like much fun to me!
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 13:33
HAHAHA WHAT A CLOWN!!! aN ABSOLUTE BAFOON!!!! SO FAR UP HIS OWN ASSS HE DOESNT KNOW WHAT TO SAY, DO OR THINK….. a WASTE OF TIME, BREATH AND TROUBLE FOR THE FUTURE!
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 14:23
You forgot to list the interesting point that in Droolius-logic, it is possible to be both rich and working class. Tokyo Sexwale is not a capitalist because he does not own the means of production. (Which is odd, because I thought that some of Mvelaphanda’s investments were in the means of um, production.)
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 14:25
Oh wait, I see you just listed it now. I blame our crappy WiFi connection or I’d have been able to upload my comment sooner.
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 14:31
When Deborah started going on about medical facts she reminded me of Jeremy asking for scientific peer-reviewed facts. I don’t know whether he came out looking like a mere fool or more as someone fearsome in his ignorance.
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 14:55
terracotta patta was definitly off balance
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 15:01
What is Lavish?
Deborah do you own a house?
How big is your yard?
How often do you have your nails done?
What car do you drive?
How much do you earn, compared to black journos in similar positions?
Is it because you are good at what you do?
Is it Lavish when it is worn by Julius Malema and tell me something what would you prefer he wears?
Please define Lavish – hope it is not
“not suited for blacks”.
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 15:15
Thebi, the point is Julius works for the government and him having such a big salary and such an expensive lifestyle is totally at odds with the people he represents. I see that he is trying to set himself as a role model for all those less fortunate than him, but when people in government are constantly bringing up the huge gap between the rich and poor in this country it’s a bit hypocritical to live like a king.
I’m not sure why race always comes into it. I’d define lavish as “not suited for public servants”
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 15:19
Please Thebi , you making yourself sound as stupid as Julius here! Debbie , asked him geniune questions and he proved he is a racist and has the brains of a piece of drift wood.
You can see he doesnt even make sense and comes up with comments i think any normal person would struggle to understand.
So make a worthwhile comment otherwise rather just keep it to yourself
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 15:23
So Cathy public servants should live like slaves? I beg to differ. I am not a public servant myself but I think the is nothing wrong with living a porsche life. If you know how to safe, you can life like any rich person. I like Julius for giving Debra a slap in her face.
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 15:33
“I you know how to safe, you can life like any rich person.” That so belongs on a T-shirt somewhere.
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 15:35
Joey. I’m sorry are you talking to me?
I didn’t say they had to live like slaves. I think they should live the same way most people in this country live. By that I don’t mean on credit. The house he has, the car he drives and so on, are over the top. What’s wrong with a R150 000 car? Why does it have to be such an expensive one. At the end of the day, they get paid with government money. Last I checked nobody asked me if I wanted to fund a politicians over the top life. I’m all for paying my taxes so people on the breadline can have better lives, it just seems that the majority of the money stop somewhere half way down.
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 15:36
woops for my grammatical errors. I type too fast sometimes. Don’t murder me! LOL
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 15:49
I fail to understand why people when the likes of Malema take a stance. Is it wrong to be a fattish political activist? Do Malema’s supporters worry when he packs a few extra Kilos around the neck area and a few elsewhere? NO. Why do his detractors feel like they are being owed an explanation and an apology?
Live with it!!!
A few years back the likes of you whiners were perfectly ignorant when people were forced to be indoors – “State of Emergency”.
Is it because good ol’ Julius has stood against all that is orthodox? Would you not change your lifestyle if you got paid as beautifuly as he is. There is race written all over this. Stop the shenanigans and just admit you feel threatened when you see your lily brought down by a straight talking Malema.
As for the salary gap, he does not pay himself, address the question to his employer. Did you complain when Koorenhof and Vlok ran the show? Do I hear a resounding YES? Not at all. The political sphere is changing faster than you have imagined. I wish to have seen how you would have taken it should the new guys have said they give you 24 Hours to pack 20 KG. Or the land redistribution taken a note off the Zimbabwe war veterans’ book.
Apartheid is Dead!!! VIVA Apartheid.
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 16:15
A hero is born. Not afraid to tackle racism like the old who have been brainwashed by the slave mentality.
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 16:18
Well considering I’m not old enough to remember anything about the Apartheid I disagree. I’d complain just as much about anyone else. Well, I like to think so anyway.
I don’t care if he eats and drinks himself obese. What I’d like is for someone to interview him in his own language and for that to be translated. That way I can see if he is really as daft as he comes across in English. I doubt it. I’d be a total moron if someone asked me stuff in Afrikaans, let alone an African language.
As for asking his employer why he is paid so much, that’s a little silly isn’t it. It’s not just Julius being overpaid. This goes for everyone, including Zille etc. He aspires to be a communist, well maybe, one day, until he realises that his lifestyle would go downhill. Then maybe he’ll prefer capitalism.
There’s a reason Communism hasn’t worked around the world!
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 16:53
Hi Everyone
I think hatred towards Malema clouds people’s judgement on issues. Let us try to soberly put things to prospective; J Malema his not working for government but the ANC and therefore he is paid by the ANC not tax payer’s money as you’ll like to advance your argument. Yes I believe Malema on issue of class he did contradict himself however, he is correct in elucidating classes i.e. Capitalism is those who owns means of production and Working class are those depending selling their labour, regardless if they’re CEO’s, floor sweepers or unemployed.
Since its Debra and her status as a journalist how do we then respond to her comment saying “you may call him a buffoon but to the masses it means nothing”. What does this comment intend to achieve? Bear in when she said that a video showing African women wearing ANC embroiled Tsonga attire, does it mean they’re stupid? The only people who make sense are those who voted against ANC? I’m no longer sure if some of us are truly patriotic?
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 16:59
Kathy out of curiosity which public office does Julius Malema hold?
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 17:05
Gosh I love politics. It all get so heated. Although at other times it’s a bit of a snooze fest if I’m honest.
I know you say that the ANC pays his salary but can anyone tell me where the ANC gets its money from exactly…
“The DA has asked Parliament to disclose how the ANC has spent its public funding in the past year after allegations that R50-million of taxpayers’ money intended for parliamentary allowances was misappropriated.” – http://tinyurl.com/yk879d2
I know Zille is on an almost one woman crusade against the ANC but sometimes where there is smoke there is fire…
I have nothing against the current government. I don’t see that they’re doing any of the things the doomsayers said they would do. But I don’t see them doing anything that they promised either. I just don’t like Malema’s race issues.
I look at a person, I don’t see the colour of their skin as being important. I’m probably more classist than anything. I don’t see many people voluntarily hanging out with people on a much lower class level to them. And please note that by class I don’t only mean your background or how much money you have. I’m far more interested in where you’re going than where you’ve come from, it’s a mind set more than anything.
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 17:28
MrPres, Julius doesn’t hold a public office as such but as president of the ANCYL he is paid by the ANC which does get money from the taxpayers, not all of it but some.
I think he likes being seen as controversial a little too much, and he has a few race issues. It’s not that he earns so much that annoys me, but that he earns it in a role which would traditionally be a lower paid sector. Is it wrong of me to see it that way?
This is meant to be a discussion, so please by all means, set me right. If I am wrong I will accept it and be happy to know more now than I did a few hours ago. Just don’t attack me, or spell my name wrong. LOL
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 17:30
I had thought everyone who follows politics know that political parties mostly rely on their donors. Really now Kathy don’t mix issues the parliamentarian allowance or salaries got nothing to do with what I had corrected; which is MALEMA’s salary. I guess you want to deviate from the questions that I had raised around your honourable, undisputed top Journalist, boldly and always right classic journalist Ms. Patta, what did she actually means by saying “he might be a buffoon but to the masses it means nothing”?
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 17:36
This came in via email…
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 17:37
I had made some spelling errors in my previous mail LOL! But seriously though “traditional a lower paid sector” by which standards? Traditional you mean we need to go back and see what was National Party was paying its agencies or youth leaders then? Or once again you’re mixing issues between Government officials and the Political party employees.
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 17:41
Kathy whether true or not lets focus on the issue at hand please “parliamentary allowances” have nothing to do with Julius. Ever heard of a donation? Where does the DA get its money or the ID maybe even the IFP. Fact remain The ANCYL President is not paid by the state. He is paid by the ANC with ANC money how the ANC itself got the money is another story. JM makes a lot of mistakes and has alot of flaws if you want to attack him feel free but at least make it credible and relevant.
“THE ANC Youth League will investigate its former leaders, even if they end up being arrested, for their role in the dubious financial dealings of the organisation’s investment wing, its president, Julius Malema, says.”
Food For Thought. Age 9…. He joined the anc at age 9… NINE….After working for 18years Im sure we all hope to achieve some level of success.. I know that I will be terribly depressed if Im not driving a Range in the next 14years
You seem rather highly educated though(More so than both ANC & ANCYL presidents combined and then multiplied) so I’m sorry to disappoint you but I highly doubt iam about to tell you something you didn’t already know…
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 17:42
Sello, I didn’t comment on your question. I apologise. I missed it. To be honest Deborah drives me a little bit nuts and is most certainly not MY “honourable, undisputed top Journalist” and as far as I can tell I have never once said I agree with everything she said in that rather long, bandwidth sucker of a video. I think that statement of hers is a bit over the top. Like I said earlier, I don’t think he’s remotely stupid, and she should try interviewing him in his first language.
I don’t follow politics per sé, please don’t get huffy with me. I do like to push the buttons of the hard-nosed political analysts though. Makes for an interesting day!
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 17:43
Sello, anybody who believes that nationalising private industry is beneficial to the country…
…is a baffoon.
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 17:49
Calling people names for raising their opinion be it JM or yourself it’s wrong. I do not believe in Nationalisation myself however I do listen to argument raised so I could take informed decisions. I think the culture that is emerging has some serious negative impacts I hope at some stage sanity and tolerance will prevail. I doubt my engagement with you (Kathy in particular) will benefit me, you or this forum since we’re failing to debate issues.
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 17:50
Jeremy I dont agree with your statement…
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 17:53
Sello – which issues in particular would you like to debate?
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 18:06
My apology Kathy but I meant to say Jeremy (sorry man) LOL!
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 18:12
That’s why cartoonists draw them in nappies while sucking pink dummies. Or short and idiotic-looking. Or with monkey ears. Or whichever way makes them look like…
…buffoons.
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 18:24
Good fellows I’m out now and I think Jeremy is funny after all!
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 20:58
Allow me to bring up a topic:White contolled MEDIA “Kapitalist” not that I need anybody’s permission though. JM mentioned that the media is controlled by “Kapitalists” and the issue I have is how selective the media is when it comes to that particular isues. It would highlight all that is nagative and look when JM mentioned that he had an alcholhol problem Ms DP made fun of him instead of supporting him, mabe it is not in the interest of capitalistic media anyway…Look at how racist conglomorates are the media will choose to rather highlight lack of skills and protect labour broking and much as I can prove it (most labour employed workers are (Black) Y? To my suprise Debra gave him credit for “highlighting that most whites are not playing ball in as far as reconciling” just my two cents I know I make not much sense ” do not bother”
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 21:07
much as I can not prove it (most labour broker employed workers are (Black)
Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 23:38
I don’t understand…
Why do black people who prefer to be ‘black’ and don’t like white culture (which I ain’t got a problem with)?
Why don’t they dress in Zulu or Pedi or Tribal cultural dress? Most ‘native’ Arabas wear their white sheets, everywhere… Why don’t Africans want to live in thier mud huts? If they want to be like white culture, why don’t they choose to adopt to breed like white culture, by practicing family planning?
I mean the white man brought all these evils to Africa: modern medicine, square roomed houses, with indoor plumbing, etc.. etc…
I really don’t understand…
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 08:25
Do you live in an ox wagon? Why shouldn’t everyone benefit progress? As for family planning, that comes with education and in case you haven’t noticed, our education is almost worthless.
It’s all good and well to say “white culture” brought about all this progress, but much of this progress was brought about on the backs of slaves and co-workers of colour, who of course don’t get any mention.
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 08:30
WHITE REFUGEE!!! Hee hee! I live in a mud house back in EC, so does my dad and my father and a whole lot of other black people who are in the eastern Cape. We live in brick houses coz thats that’s is what is built closer to our working enviroments. We live in brickhouses in the townships because it is a way of improving the living conditions of ANY MAN, the way houses are built don’t define BLACKNESS OR WHITENESS!
We also dress in clothes- because we are fashion driven people. We don’t need anyone to dictate to us how we dress- IT’S JUST CLOTHES.
FAMILY PRACTISE IS NOT A WHITE THING STUPID! If I PLAN TO HAVE 11 KIDS- THAT’S A PLAN- IF I PLAN TO HAVE 2 KIDS- THATS A PLAN TOO.
White people are just white people- LIVE WITH IT!
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 09:14
JM will always be wrong in whilte people’s eye becuase White supremacy isn’t a belief. It is a disease. That one race should hold itself above another is a gross inadequacy for understanding life itself. It is self-indulging blind ignorance that lets them look at everyone through tunnel vision. They are no better than anyone else. It is just their illusion.
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 09:16
Please leave julius Malema Alone and stop making some silly and racist comments about him. He represent us as youth of South Africa. If he was a white person he you wouldn’t post this stupid comments. And about Dedrah she thinks , she’s on top of the world, Why she always targeting Black people.
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 10:55
If there were such white youth leaders they would have been pilloried just the same. Or did you miss all the potshots that were taken, on this very site, at Eugene Terre’blanche and his cronies and numerous other whites? I’m sure you participated enthusiastically, but now that the aim has shifted, suddenly its “silly and racist”.
Loyalty is a wonderful quality, but never, NEVER be blind to both the good and bad qualities of people, including leaders. If they say a stupid thing, tell them. If they are wise, venerate them.
And who must the Patta person talk to, if not leaders in government, society and political people? And how many of them are white?
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 11:23
Zakes
Why should we leave julius malema alone? Because he is Black?
He is a once man circus who obviously enjoys all the attention he is getting from the media.
“If he was a white person he you wouldn’t post this stupid comments.” WTF? This has nothing to do with him being black. It has to do with him being an idiot. But I guess in the land of the blind the one eyed man is king.
Africa
“JM will always be wrong in whilte people’s eye .”
Well maybe not always, I think he has got a point with the “Hermaphrodites doesnt exist”
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 11:23
I am black and proud …Julius does not represent me at all…he does not even come close. He represents youth members of the ANC youth league…
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 11:39
Lonwabo
Thats so true, but if you “Plan” to have 11 children then that is your problem and your responsibility. Don cry like a little bitch and blame the white man when you cant afford to feed your 11 children.
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 11:46
Julius does come off as an idiot in this interview, so what else is new….this is picture we get from the media every other day. The man is clearly confused, and still seems to be wallowing in the revolution of yesteryear. Racism is a real and present danger and needs to be handled with care. Mr Malema makes a mockery and does a disservice to people affected by real racial injustices, somebody higher in the party up should take a stance against him. His case in not helped by the fact that his lifestyle is so very clearly juxtaposed with that of his followers.
On the other hand, Deborah exhibits very poor interview technique, not sure what she was going for. This is hardly hardtalk or cutting edge journalism. Instead it comes off and a personal attack on Julius. While she could have let Julius hang by his own petard but instead she harries him on silly issues like weight and dilutes her opportunity for real debate with the man.
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 11:53
@Zake Why don’t you tell her then what WHITE or COLOURED people to target if you say she is JUST targeting blacks. is there any white/ coloured she want or should target whom ARE important to South Africa per se.
And Zakes yes people are making “racist” jokes and silly comments bout Malema, then again he does line himself up for target practice. Im mean Joost is in the same boat, like are you pulling a Joost, means are you cheating.
@Africa i read this whole post and DID NOT see anyone say whites are better than Blacks. And if some of them (whites) have this illusion, what does it bother you anyway?
@Ri yes as you commented on White Refugee and said lot of technology and stuff whites brought into south africa was built on extortion and slavery of blacks, but egypt and most nations where..get over it, slavery is gone. Man by your definition my laptop was built or is built on Chinese slavery (maybe not far from truth) should we give them all credit..please
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 11:57
People ALWAYS BLAME THE GOVERMENT “NOT WHITE PEOPLE” Excuse you!
You see- if you just want to comment for the sake of commenting- and put so much emotional strain on the subject- you do end up saying things like that.
11 kids- you’ll probably have them in the rurals and in poor cummunities. Reason people complain is because there are no schools, no shops and not enough productivity around those areas. Food- yes- but it’s usually the end result when you find that most of your family has to struggle to go to school, get a job and thus bring food to the family.
Black people don’t cry like bitches!
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 12:12
Ri,
It’s all good and well to say “white culture” brought about all this progress, but much of this progress was brought about on the backs of slaves and co-workers of colour, who of course don’t get any mention
For 1400 years before the white man came to Africa; black leaders and Muslims practiced slavery in Africa, as one ofthe largest business enterprises on the African continent; it also worked well for black leaders who needed to cull their overpopulating ignorant masses, where mother natures disease and famine did not do so, quick enough to equalise carrying capacity. The slavery practiced by black and Muslim Arabs — ie sex and cannon fodder slavery — was incomparible in its cruelty, compared to what the white man’s slavery (honest labour) was.
A comparison of the Islamic Slave Trade to the American Slave Trade reveals some extremely interesting contrasts. While two out of every three slaves shipped across the Atlantic were men; the proportions were reversed in the Islamic Slave Trade. Two women for every man were enslaved by the Muslims. While the mortality rate of slaves being transported across the Atlantic was as high as 10%, the percentage of slaves dying in transit in the Trans Sahara and East African Slave Trade Market was a staggering 80 to 90%. While almost all the slaves shipped across the Atlantic were for agricultural work; most of the slaves destined for the Muslim Middle East were for sexual exploitation, as concubines, in harreems and for military service. While many children were born to the slaves in the Americas, the millions of their descendants are citizens in Brazil and the United States today; very few of the slaves that ended up in the Muslim Middle East survived. While most slaves who went to the Americas could marry and have families; most of the male slaves destined for the Middle East were castrated, and most of the children born to the women, were killed at birth.
– The Legacy of Arab-Islam in Africa, by Dr. John Alebeleah Azumah
If you drive the white man out of Africa… YOu can look forward to living under that form of slavery again… Take a look at Darfur.. and see the future for black African ‘Christians’ under Islam….
Slavery would most certainly exist today in the same form that it did for more than a thousand years in the Arab world were it not for the Western Christian-based nations “imposing their values on Muslim lands” by putting an end to it. It was not Arabs, nor Africans who forcibly suppressed slavery in Zanzibar, but Europeans.
There is not, and never has been, an abolition movement within Islam. There certainly is not an abolition movement in the ANC, or any movement, that does not address family planning and an ultimate goal of zero population growth, as the foundation for a civilized society…
“… World population growth is widely recognized within the Government as a current danger of the highest magnitude calling for urgent measures.”
“Where population size is greater than available resources, or is expanding more rapidly than the available resources, there is a tendency toward internal disorders and violence and, sometimes, disruptive international policies or violence.”
“…there is general agreement that up to the point when cost per acceptor rises rapidly, family planning expenditures are generally considered the best investment a country can make in its own future,”
– National Security Study Memorandum 200: Implications of World Population Growth…, April 1974.
In response to aforementioned at the UN Population Policy Conference in Bucharest, Romania, African leaders refused to introduce Family Planning and Population Control Education measures, calling them ‘racist’.
Africans want ‘Africa for the Africans’…. you are welcome to Africa for the Africans… The only thing that stands between you being a slave and carted off to the Middle East, to be castrated, and if you are a woman, your children killed upon birth; where you will be kept as sex slaves; is THE WHITE MAN IN AFRICA…
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 12:20
White Refugee, while your comments are always great fun, is it absolutely necessary to sabotage every thread, in which you partake, with your hysterical novels?
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 12:26
Good call Jeremy. I was just having a laugh and wondering when you’d show up.
WR – What the hell do you do all day other than lurk here and on your blog writing awful things? Don’t get me wrong, your comments are always good for a chuckle but isn’t it time to hang up the gloves and let go of all that hate inside you?
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 12:32
Jeremy,
So to clarify Jeremy, you prefer comments that are mindless without any evidence for their lack of logic.. In short you prefer Malema comments, don’t matter from white or black or pink or green…. Just as long as they are Malema comments;
YOu prefer anyone who comments here to avoid substance, avoid reference to researched scientific documents… because doing so is writing a ‘hysterical novel’ comment?
You got a low tolerance for comments based on critical thinking, i guess..
No worries.. no hysteria here.. perhaps your own being projected.. anyway, my apologies.. if you ain’t got any tolerance for thoughtful comments based upon researched documents.. I shall refrain and leave you to your malema commenters…
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 12:39
Oh, stop squealing like a pig and jumping to melodramatic conclusions. No one is censoring or telling you what to type.
I’m just saying, readers tend to prefer compacted and easy reading…
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 12:50
Nobody mentioned censoring.. except you..
I dont’ subscribe to ‘compacted and easy reading’. I subscribe to factual and critcal thinking reading’…
So if you wish to cater to malema critical thinking type of readers, who canot give a flying fig if any opinion is based upon documented research.. go ahead.. no problem to me whatsoever..
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 12:53
I agree Jeremy,
I skip over the long ones.
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 12:54
WHITE REFUGEE- Just coz it’s written- don’t mean it’s true! Errthing has changed since then-
it’s part of life- not a reason for a pat on the back.
Reason we still fighting- is so that more change can happen-
IT IS PART OF LIFE- NOT A REASON TO GIVE YOURSELF A PAT ON THE BACK.
People should make change without having to feel righteous about it all the time coz then it always is shallow and no-one can see the goodness out of it.
And Back to Malema- HE ROCKS!
Matter of fact-ly!
Lonwabo
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 13:04
LOL, Lonwabo – I agree with you about people not feeling righteous about causing change but I’m not so sure Malema rocks. He tends to say a lot of things without researching them first and unfortunately when you’re in a position of power, such as he is in, it can be detrimental to the country as a whole, regardless of the feelings of his core audience.
White Refugee, instead of getting your panties in a twist, take what Jeremy is saying and constructive criticism. I’m also not partial to the long posts. It just seems to be that you also have a lot of information on everything to support your one sided argument and nothing for the other side. You’re a little biased don’t you think? One would think you’d been raiding Hitlers library!
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 13:17
WHAT RESEARCH?? The intersex research?
He did do his research- and nobody has ever heard of such things in blacks.
It would be the first time we’ve heard of it?
And like i said- not all research is true and right. Lots of our South African history hs been fiddled with- what is nice about malema is he is doing ground reasearch not google research- and it means something to the people he is trying to relate to.
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 13:54
I think white europeans in Africa should go back Home
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 14:04
First off I’m not just talking about the Caster Semenya issue, he tends to use a lot of hearsay as factual arguments and secondly, are you trying to tell me that you’ve never heard of one intersex person in the African community before?
I’ll try my best not to come across as rude or patronising here, but perhaps it’s just that the majority of cases occur outside of areas with better health services where they might have picked it up. This would mean that most intersex people in the black community would not know there was anything different about them and neither would their families.
Perhaps instead of speaking to the people in the community about the condition, JM should in fact have done some “google research’ or maybe just visited the library and read some medical journals. Yes it’s good that he’s talking to the people, but I’m not going to ask a plumber how to build a rocket now am I? No, I would go to the authority on the subject.
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 14:12
RE : Lonwabo
“WHAT RESEARCH?? The intersex research?

So not all reasech is true and right but whatever Julius pulls out of his ass is? Just because you have never heard of interex/Hermaphrodites amongst blacks doesnt mean it doesnt exist…
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 14:27
Thulani – That worked out so well for Mozambique. And where exactly is my home? I’m a 4th Generation South African.
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 14:34
JOUMA-SE
You ever heard of a man who solved an oil spill in the ocean? he was a plumber and no scientist could come up with a solution.
2- I said- let’s not get emotional about this subject- I know it says moer it at the bottom there- but can I ask we be rational about things.
I DDNT SAY MALEMA WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE ISSUE- I SAID “HE DONE HIS RESEARCH.”
3. In ALL honesty- you got a pussy you’re a girl. Now we learnered people have to go and fiddle with the inner bits- so we can come up with a new way of describing different girls.
4. What do you call the guy born with 2 DICKS- Please come up eith a great name…
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 14:39
I’ve not heard of it. Care sharing a credible URL?
Of course. And in all honesty. if the moon floats above the Earth like it does, then it must obviously contain helium.
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 14:45
Lonwabo – I’m not sure you had to be so crass, but in any case.
1. Ocean = water, Plumber = someone who deals with myriad amounts of crap in water all day, every day. It makes sense.
2. I don’t think this was directed at me.
3. Have two different sex organs does not make you a girl. Just because you can’t see something doesn’t mean it’s not there. We can’t see wind can we but we know it exists and we don’t try to deny the fact.
4. I think you could call him a playstation.
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 14:57
Nice one Kathy lol @ Playstation- I thought Superman- but yours rocks!
But a plumber wouldnt be qualified to do such work in such circiumstances-normally.( my point)
JEREMY
I am trying to get hold of the website- it was shown in DESIGN INDABA this year- but its a website were anyone can solve any problem- no matter What- and no matter who you are.
Give me sometime, I don’t quite remember URL’s but the great stories. B BK!

ROFLMAO at your No 4.
Lonwabo
Im sure Lots of plumbers solve all sorts of problems all arround the world every day, and lost of innovative things are being done by all sorts of people everyday, but that is hardly the point. Denying the fact that there are black Hermaphrodites is as good as saying that there is no such thing as HIV/AIDS when evidence is clearly there.
He is abusing his role as leader of the ANCYL by miss-informing people trough statements such as that, based on his so called “ground research” when his research is clearly wrong.
If you’re not saying he’s right, are you saying he is wrong?
O wait let me guess , You’re not saying he’s wrong and your not saying that he is right you are just saying that he did his research.

Friday, 4 December 2009, at 17:31
I just listen to this interview and read all the comments here and I just can’t stop laughing.
The first commenter PeterH put it well when he said, ‘the Dumb interviewing the Dumber’, even though it would have been perfectly put as the ‘Dumber interviewing the Dumb’.
This Malema guy is clearly a very smart man humouring this Debra woman. I can not believe the lack of professionalism as well as good meaningful questions in this interview. At one point I was cringing listening to her with the fat, beer, designer hat, belt, bag etc jibes. Most people I knew in SA had at least one designer something!!!!
She knows and she repeatedly said he is an actor and puts on a show, yet she gives him the platform to put on a major show!!! What was the purpose of this interview and what did it achieve except to make them both look like ‘lovers having a quarrel’.
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 17:32
She is right about 1 thing ‘THE JOKE IS ON ALL OF YOU, BLACK, WHITE, INDIAN OR COLOURED’ and I for one feel very sorry for all of you.
By the way the person who summarised the interview PUT THINGS OUT OF CONTEXT.
And this is the problem I find wrong with SA. The lack of CREDIBILITY, with most things, be it the good guys, the bad guys, the government, politicians and mostly the Media including journalists.
Even though there is a very serious and legitimate point to be made about Molema and his behaviour, views and stance, was this the best way to go about it?
Stop trying to expose this guy as a ‘buffoon’ because I can assure you ( looking in from an objective point of view) that he is anything but that. He would not have gotten this far if he was. It is very arrogant, dangerous and short sighted to think or even assume that all his followers, supporters and the leaders of the ruling party are blinder by or to this guys stupidity or ‘buffooness’.
Friday, 4 December 2009, at 17:33
He has clearly found what the ‘disillusioned youths (ANC)’ want to hear and is playing to their tune, increasing his popularity.
Journalist should ask him what he or his party is doing to ensure that all youths will enjoy or come close to enjoying the status bestowed on him. Make him list facts, projects and policies which have been out in place to achieve this so far. This is how you can expose him.
His party has been in power for 15 years, surely systems have been put in place to address the injustices and inequalities of the past and surely they should be working or beginning to work now.
Cold, hard, relevant and meaningful interviews, questions and debates.
If this can not be achieved the media should simply not report on him, especially when there is clearly nothing to report.
Enough said.

You cannot expect a group of people who still lived complete hunter gatherer lives as recently as 500 ago to embrace and understand democracy and politics they are not capable of it. When the white man arrived in SA 500 years ago the black tribes of SA had not even developed something as basic as the wheel, something that has been around for thousands of years in europe and the middle east. The reason they hate us so much is because they know the truth and when they read of great european people like Aristotle, Descarte, Mozart etc etc etc they wonder why europe, 500 years ago was already on such a high cultural, social and political level while they were still chasing animals with spears and wearing loin cloths to cover them. After almost 15 years of so called democracy we still kick their butts on the sportsfield, academically, in the arts. 8 out of the top ten matriculants in 2008 were white, in 2009 and in 2020 it will still be the same, if by then there is a governable country as I suspect Julius Malema woul have turned SA into a veritable waste land like his grandfather tata Mugabe. Any replies of discontent can be directed to kissmylillywhitetooshy@malemanet.u.suck.

To White Refugee and others who enjoy long comments, I apologise for having a stab at you. I’ve thought about it and retract my comments. Forgive me.
I am going to try locate a plugin that hides lengthy comments by adding a “read more” link. This way, many readers won’t be intimated.
Ignore me and carry on.

Saturday, 5 December 2009, at 09:53
Also, I’ll say this again. Anyone who believes that:
- nationalising private industry is beneficial to a country’s growth;
- hermaphrodites don’t exist because a few tribal chiefs say so;
- the media is some sort of evil conspiratorial entity;
is a buffoon.
Saturday, 5 December 2009, at 13:57
What is a buffoon?
Saturday, 5 December 2009, at 14:47
Just for the record I understand (not being a Pedi linguist but from people who are) the Pedi language does in fact have a word for “Hermaphrodite”, the word being “legere matuna”. Similarly there are words for “Hermaphrodite” in Zulu and Xhosa!
The fact of the matter is that JM is an uneducated loudmouth and (relative to old SA terms that might be used) buffoon is pretty accurate.

@ WhiteRefugee: white man’s slavery (honest labour) … really?
If white people only used black people “honestly”, how do you think people of colour came about? Especially around our fairest (hah!) Cape?
You should also read up some more about “civilised” slavery: sure slaves could get married and have kids, who were then each sold of to different white owners. Keeping family together was NOT a priority. Even husband and wife could be split.
As to your very long comments, of course you are free to cram as much info in there as you want, but you could also summarise and put in links for anyone interested to read up more. Any course on presentation would tell you to KISS, which can be interpreted as Keep It Short and Simple or Keep It Simple, Stupid. Ignore this advice and lose your audience after the first 2 paragraphs.

Makeke – That’s just silly. Not everyone minds integration. It’s not always about race, mostly it’s a class issue.
Monday, 7 December 2009, at 12:29
mindless hater that no one will even remember 100 years from now. However the JM will forever be remembered in history. That’s what its all about…being remembered for what you’ve done…not what you’ve complained about…you are just as lost in the woods as bambi .I also believe that you could benefit from taking advantage of our higher education. Your writing pattern is that of someone who has less than a primary school education. Before you attempt to school us “naive” posters regarding what JM is or is not doing, I first suggest that you learn how the accumulative effects of bad decisions that have been made during apartheid thus leaving our current president to fix this mess. I certainly applaud JM efforts.

Very good interview!!!! Hilarious! But I think, Deborah might be right. The joke might be on us ( all other South Africans that care about the country). My opinion is that, he is merely ignorant and riding on a wave of popularity. I wonder if he has any tertiary qualifications? I don’t mean to undermine him in anyway, I just feel that if any person should take on such an influencial leadership role, then he should be well read. The blind can’t lead the blind. Once again, no offence. I trully respect him as a human being. I wish he could study further and be more exposed to the world around him to understand issues and concepts holistically and on a broader view. I think if he could devote himself to higher education, up to say, phd level he would get to a stage where he appreciates the country enough to care about its diverse cultures and to care about the economy as a whole. He needs to set an example to the youth that education is KEY. I would like Deborah to tackle this issue with him and with the ANC leadership as a whole. I care too much about my country, and I love my people and, would like to see us develop in a positive way.
Tuesday, 8 December 2009, at 10:25
Wowww people are so narrow minded. deborah you are gud and you do a excellent Jod i support you 100%what example is the JM setting for the youth it makes me sick when that man opens his mouth

Tuesday, 8 December 2009, at 14:07
Aubrey – You’re right, I have brought up the issue of class a few times. Mostly because people haven’t seemed to listen.
Communism – I don’t like the idea of not owning my own property or where society is classless (clearly I have a thing about class) It would never work on a large scale because human beings are essentially selfish and the majority would not be interested in working for the greater good.
Socialism – Not such a bad idea. Being taxed on what you earn, subsidised or free health services, minimum wage, social security etc. But it’s not without its problems. Fraud, waiting lists for health care, higher rates of tax which discourages business growth and so on. It works, but would be better in conjunction with another ideal.
Nationalism – Civic nationalism is great. It establishes a clear identity of a country as a whole regardless of race or ethnicity, it gives everyone a sense of pride in the place we live in. Ethnic nationalism is a crap concept and is very much part of our history. We were all split according to the colour of our skin and tribes. Look how well that turned out!
Capitalism – Private individuals and companies get to make money for themselves. It encourages competition and gives everyone the opportunity to start a business and get rich. Unfortunately, a lot of the time the rich get richer and the poor stay the same.
I think I’d like a government and country that ran on a little bit of socialism and a healthy dose of civic nationalism and capitalism. It’s pretty similar to what we have at the moment I think, except that the current government are thinking more along the lines of Ethnic Nationalism as did the previous one. I’d also like them to shape up and provide better free health care. Problem is the people that use it probably don’t pay tax.
I hope all that makes sense, sorry for the essay y’all.
Tuesday, 8 December 2009, at 14:10
Kathy, feel free to type essays. I’ve apologised and retracted my comment about long comments.
Tuesday, 8 December 2009, at 14:12

Have a break, have a kit kat!

Kathy
I think you’re indeed correct when you made references on socialism, I do agree with you that there should be a mix of both (socialism + another system). If such systems are to be greatly implemented it needs an open minded approach and cautiously as well. We all know that today we’re in this situation (economical recession) because of a “hard core capitalism” as it manifest it’s self globally. Equally to that I tend to disagree with you on Capitalism that it offers everyone an opportunity to start a business and be rich, the concept in a book seems tangible however in practise its far fetch. I would highlight few issues on that, it’s impossible nowadays for a working class to establish an independent business without bank’s loan or bonds and so forth. The working class is encourage to save for a better future however little do they get in terms of salaries that goes to their pockets, whilst petrol, bread, electricity prices goes up to mention but a few.
Wednesday, 9 December 2009, at 08:21
Aubrey
It’s true that not everyone is going to make it, but every person has the option to try if they want. Admittedly the majority will fail but the point is they have a choice. This is why you need a mix of systems.
Think of it as food. People need a balanced diet. We can’t just eat one type such as meat, we need the veggies and the carbs too. Too much of one thing is never a good idea.
Wednesday, 9 December 2009, at 11:56
I do get your ideal in terms of your approach and analysis; however capitalism has done much harm at present to human, animals, earth, etc. I would like to broaden our discussion by including the issue of global warming. The perpetrators globally are those who have high industrial economy drive i.e. United Snakes of America ;(Lol) oops I mean to say United State of America. They’re a least affected and the continent that will suffer most is Africa and they contribute less than 10% in aggravating this saga. To top it all because of the capital drive USA is the most reluctant and stubborn government to align themselves with the global green standards. Now this is how capitalism manoeuvres and appears to give everybody a chance yet in veracity it’s the opposite.
Wednesday, 9 December 2009, at 16:14
Justa correction to Kathy, Julius does not work for the Gorverment. He is merely the President of the ANC’ s Youth Leage. Just like Gwede Mantashe who is just The General Secretary of The Ruling Party. He does not hold any position in Goverment, is you believe he does, please specify what that position is.
Wednesday, 9 December 2009, at 16:24
Deborrah Patta was moered by Malema and next time she will think twice before inviting him.
Malema is a very smart individual and a great prospect for the future.
Right now he is making a name for himself by making all these noises that a lot of conservative people in leadership positions are scared to make in public.
With regard to what economic system should our country adopt, i think the Goverment should lookout for everybody i.e. Rich and poor. The Goverment should lookout for the interst of South Africans and recognise that South Africans has Rich and poor and nobody should be sidelined.
Wednesday, 9 December 2009, at 16:36
Khensani – perhaps you should read all the comments on this page. You will then see that we have been over this and I have retracted my statement about him working for the government.
I was already beaten for my ignorance, are you here to deliver the final blow. LOL
Aubrey – I don’t think we can purely blame capitalism for the financial problems in the world today. I think it was more a case of people wanting what they couldn’t actually afford, and the banks being only too willing to lend them the money. Everyone got greedy, the people wanted houses and cars, the banks wanted money from the interest, secondary loan companies also wanted a piece of the pie and it all eventually collapsed. It was a case of Keeping up with the Jones’ going badly wrong.
My philosophy, if you can’t afford it today, you probably shouldn’t have it. Credit cards, store cards etc. are evil. Majority of people don’t have the willpower to stop themselves from using them. Personally, if I use my credit card, the money is either already in there or transferred from my bank account the same day. If I owe anyone money I get cold sweats and can’t sleep.
Wednesday, 9 December 2009, at 16:40
I have to thank all of you. I would never be looking into things in such depth as I am now, so thanks for helping me expand my knowledge. Much obliged.
Thursday, 10 December 2009, at 14:26
Hi i just want to say Sello all the parties is baby’s of the government if we are not going to vote for them then there will be no government. So if he is paid by the ANC still it cams from my tax money. And to close of how many of the youth are with out jobs.

@ White Refugee (Ive seen your website)
It is fact mam or sir tht yes white civilisation since the greek and whateva times where blessed by God with a different path in life eg writing, building etc at the same time the coloured I think egyptians were doing the same. That as black people we can not deny or fight, in terms of this life style you are more experienced than us black people.
I ask this though if we had worked together from the begining as you say u have the better morals, principles and Jesus who is my lord and saviour as white characteristics than wud things not be better know.
You call yourself a refugee in times shaped by your forefathers contributions to our society and act superior due to the fact you got a higher education becoz of your skin colour
Listen now and listen good, The African National Congress is for The People The Masses, The Native and as long we rule it shall stay so
Friday, 11 December 2009, at 09:35
What makes Malema a buffoon is that he believes that nationalising the private sector will benefit South Africa. This is why Patrick Craven is also a buffoon.
Centralised power does not work as well as a free market.
Friday, 11 December 2009, at 10:24
African National Congress – You say that you are for the People The Masses, The Native. Does this mean that you are not for me, because I am white? The majority of my life has been lived after apartheid was abolished. I remember nothing of it. To me that’s the past, and the only thing the past is good for is showing us what we did wrong or right.
We all know that White Refugee is filled with hatred for people who were suppressed by our so called superior race. Is it not wrong to then put every white person in the same boat as those who will not move forward? I don’t want to be associated with someone like her based purely on the colour of my skin.
Friday, 11 December 2009, at 11:39
All in all it seems that we have still to learn that sleeping dogs best be left alone and to carry on forward with a better attitude. If we keep on pondering about others creating issuses and respond negitivly – we are no beter, fabrics from the same cloth.
Shouldnt we rather all try focus on the corruption in this country and deal with that FIRMLY,than poke at clowns that would dissapate once ignored completely.
Just a stupid ramble.
oh an p.s this racism thing is nothing than a weapon used to stir and divide us all.
Put me in your shoes and i’ll learn to walk the same because i am the same.
Friday, 11 December 2009, at 11:42
The Nandos add is funny though
Friday, 11 December 2009, at 12:38
I grew up not knowing about racism till i was eductaed enough to understand the definition of this.Growing up I learnt the meaning(I am of european decent), it’s more than terrible, and when we thought it was gone(1994+-) A new form was invented,reverse-apparthied(oh god plz) We will eat eachother up unless we learn to realise skin clour means nothing, values do!!!!!!!!!!
I thank my dad for teaching me to live alike and to accept and learn the facinating customs and ways of every single person – Like a story, told and not forgotten.
Watching how ppl behave and act and live is the most facinating work of Art ever, some bad(not likes) some gud(liked).
I rambling…. wat we really need is a plan of action for water, resource education and equal say and power in the development of new communities and townships.
I belive all most ppl want is food and a place to start a family, not lies covered by last minute props to sway election votes (unfortunately the un-educated can’t grasp the deviousness of these tatics!)Why do we waste millions changing street names and earning way to high a salary(which the can’t put out for) when our taxes can help create villages and RDP settlements first (with proof) and then the gifts and changes can come if it need be so. Also since i work WITH town planning, why are almost all the contractors hired to do the jobs when A) they are not qualified B) create more waste of revenue as the RDP houses were built on
Dolomite – a clear sign they knew nothing, which now means the unsafe houses need to be rebuilt(more money). My god we waste money and complain about stupid things, we all need to take government into our hands and say no!We pay you to run a country – not to get FAT CAT rich – SO bloody do it or LEAVE!!!!

We should always remind our people that this global genocide continues ?
Botha’s Speech 1985
THE FOLLOWING is a speech made by former South African President P.W. Botha to his Cabinet. This reprint was written by David G. Mailu for the Sunday Times, a South African newspaper, dated August 18, 1985 .
When Pres. Mbeki attended the funeral of former Apartheid leader PW Botha he was ignoring the genocidal plan of the whites there. Read the 1985 Botha Speech to see what the global white supremacist plot has been covertly doing against Blacks all around the globe.
Pretoria has been made by the White mind for the White man . We are not obliged even the least to try to prove to anybody and to the Blacks that we are superior people. We have demonstrated that to the Blacks in a thousand and one ways. The Republic of South Africa that we know of today has not been created by wishful thinking. We have created it at the expense of intelligence, sweat and blood. Were they Afrikaners who tried to eliminate the Australian Aborigines? Are they Afrikaners who discriminate against Blacks and call them Nigge*rs in the States? Were they Afrikaners who started the slave trade? Where is the Black man appreciated? England discriminates against its Black and their ?Sus? law is out to discipline the Blacks. Canada, France, Russia, and Japan all play their discrimination too. Why in the hell then is so much noise made about us? Why are they biased against us? I am simply trying to prove to you all that there is nothing unusual we are doing that the so called civilized worlds are not doing. We are simply an honest people who have come out aloud with a clear philosophy of how we want to live our own White life.
We do not pretend like other Whites that we like Blacks. The fact that, Blacks look like human beings and act like human beings do not necessarily make them sensible human beings. Hedgehogs are not porcupines and lizards are not crocodiles simply because they look alike. If God wanted us to be equal to the Blacks, he would have created us all of a uniform colour and intellect. But he created us differently: Whites, Blacks, Yellow, Rulers and the ruled. Intellectually, we are superior to the Blacks; that has been proven beyond any reasonable doubt over the years. I believe that the Afrikaner is an honest, God fearing person, who has demonstrated practically the right way of being. Nevertheless, it is comforting to know that behind the scenes, Europe, America, Canada, Australia-and all others are behind us in spite of what they say. For diplomatic relations, we all know what language should be used and where. To prove my point, Comrades, does anyone of you know a White country without an investment or interest in South Africa? Who buys our gold? Who buys our diamonds? Who trades with us? Who is helping us develop other nuclear weapon? The very truth is that we are their people and they are our people. It?s a big secret. The strength of our economy is backed by America, Britain, Germany. It is our strong conviction, therefore, that the Black is the raw material for the White man. So Brothers and Sisters, let us join hands together to fight against this Black devil. I appeal to all Afrikaners to come out with any creative means of fighting this war. Surely God cannot forsake his own people whom we are. By now every one of us has seen it practically that the Blacks cannot rule themselves. Give them guns and they will kill each other. They are good in nothing else but making noise, dancing, marrying many wives and indulging in sex. Let us all accept that the Black man is the symbol of poverty, mental inferiority, laziness and emotional incompetence. Isn?t it plausible? therefore that the White man is created to rule the Black man? Come to think of what would happen one day if you woke up and on the throne sat a Kaff*ir! Can you imagine what would happen to our women? Does anyone of you believe that the Blacks can rule this country?
Hence, we have good reasons to let them all-the Mandelas-rot in prison, and I think we should be commended for having kept them alive in spite of what we have at hand with which to finish them off. I wish to announce a number of new strategies that should be put to use to destroy this Black bug. We should now make use of the chemical weapon. Priority number one, we should not by all means allow any more increases of the Black population lest we be choked very soon. I have exciting news that our scientists have come with an efficient stuff. I am sending out more researchers to the field to identify as many venues as possible where the chemical weapons could be employed to combat any further population increases. The hospital is a very strategic opening, for example and should be fully utilized. The food supply channel should be used. We have developed excellent slow killing poisons and fertility destroyers. Our only fear is in case such stuff came in! ! to their hands as they are bound to start using it against us if you care to think of the many Blacks working for us in our homes.
However, we are doing the best we can to make sure that the stuff remains strictly in our hands. Secondly, most Blacks are vulnerable to money inducements. I have set aside a special fund to exploit this venue. The old trick of divide and rule is still very valid today. Our experts should work day and night to set the Black man against his fellowman. His inferior sense of morals can be exploited beautifully. And here is a creature that lacks foresight. There is a need for us to combat him in long term projections that he cannot suspect. The average Black does not plan his life beyond a year: that stance, for example, should be exploited. My special department is already working round the clock to come out with a long-term operation blueprint. I am also sending a special request to all Afrikaner mothers to double their birth rate. It may be necessary too to set up a population boom industry by putting up centres where we employ and support fully White young men and women to produce children for the nation. We are also investigating the merit of uterus rentals as a possible means of speeding up the growth of our population through surrogate mothers.
For the time being, we should also engage a higher gear to make sure that Black men are separated from their women and fines imposed upon married wives who bear illegitimate children.
I have a committee working on finding better methods of inciting Blacks against each other and encouraging murders among themselves. Murder cases among Blacks should bear very little punishment in order to encourage them.
My scientists have come up with a drug that could be smuggled into their brews to effect slow poisoning results and fertility destruction. Working through drinks and manufacturing of soft drinks geared to the Blacks, could promote the channels of reducing their population . Ours is not a war that we can use the atomic bomb to destroy the Blacks, so we must use our intelligence to effect this. The person-to-person encounter can be very effective.
As the records show that the Black man is dying to go to bed with the White woman, here is our unique opportunity. Our Sex Mercenary Squad should go out and camouflage with Apartheid Fighters while doing their operations quietly administering slow killing poison and fertility destroyers to those Blacks they thus befriend.
We are modifying the Sex Mercenary Squad by introducing White men who should go for the militant Black woman and any other vulnerable Black woman. We have received a new supply of prostitutes from Europe and America who are desperate and too keen to take up the appointments.
My latest appeal is that the maternity hospital operations should be intensified. We are not paying those people to help bring Black babies to this world but to eliminate them on the very delivery moment . If this department worked very efficiently, a great deal could be achieved.
My Government has set aside a special fund for erecting more covert hospitals and clinics to promote this programme. Money can do anything for you. So while we have it, we should make the best use of it. In the meantime my beloved White citizens, do not take to heart what the world says, and don?t be ashamed of being called racists. I do not mind being called the architect and King of Apartheid. I shall not become a monkey simply because someone has called me a monkey. I will still remain your bright star? His Excellency Botha. ?

Sorry Africa – too long to read. I managed two paragraphs, and started thinking it was a lot of bull. Thanks amandzing for checking it out.
What really upsets me is that 15 years into a democracy, there is still so much hatred from both sides. And what seems to be the trend, is that it comes mainly from old white people (who want the old days back), and young black people (who don’t even remember the old days).
What is encouraging though, is that I attend meetings where black, white, Indian (Durbs not CT), male and female, all contribute and are all respected for their input and specialist knowledge. We also all get on, chatting about all sorts of things, making friendships.
And no, I don’t invite those of a different race into my home, but I don’t invite those of the same race into my home either, and none of them invite me. It’s a professional friendship.

I don’t see too much racism amongst the ordinary people in Cape Town at all! However, I don’t loathe Malema because of the colour of his skin, I loathe him because of the constant dribble that pours out of his mouth.
That is NOT racism.
It is extreme distaste for a supremely ignorant, loud and irritating human.
Tuesday, 15 December 2009, at 10:53
so Kathy you are white I assume, Deborah is White, either you are saying Julius is illiterate in English or you are saying blacks shouldnt speak your language. you have labelled him stupid with your snotty remarks. I liked what Julius said,Why should a blackman who lives in Sandton be questioned yet a whiteman who works in a call center stays there and is not questioned.
should blacks not have role models in the political arena because HElen Zille and Deborah are not happy being neighbors with them. the post democratic leadership said and made sure Blacks stayed in Soweto, well now that time is over and u better learn to either live with it or somehow compromise your so called values and learn to live with it.
Sello you dont have to suck-up to an ignorant person whose views of Julius are based on his colour than his answers, a white lady is here saying that Julius is stupid cos he isnt born english.
I dont care for Julius but the minute the debate turns racial it affects me, other blacks, whites, coloureds, Indians and so forth… maybe when we debate about a person we should stick to that person and not throw race into the mix.
by the way Kathy, I dont mind if part of my tax pays Julius, better him than the late PW Botha
Tuesday, 15 December 2009, at 11:09
Vons – If you would get down off your high horse and actually read properly, I never once said he was stupid. All I said is that it’s difficult to always make sense in your second language. In fact I said that if anyone tried to ask me something in Afrikaans I’d look like a moron. If it was an African language I’d be stuffed. I was actually defending him. Unless you’re saying he knew exactly what he was saying at all times in the above video, because then I really am worried.
I never once said Black people shouldn’t speak English either. Are you smoking socks? Why would I question a black man working in Sandton or anywhere else? Everyone has a right to do the best they can in any place they wish. To be honest the only one turning this into a racial issue is you.
What’s with always bringing up the past too. Botha is a distant memory of a rather chubby man with a mustache in my head. I sure as shit wouldn’t be happy paying my taxes to him either.
Get your facts straight before you attack me again.
Tuesday, 15 December 2009, at 12:09
@ Vons – this is NOT a black white issue (or a language issue) at all. Malema is an idiot – an insult to the black people (like you) who can argue and make some sense.
He’s rude, tactless and a hypocrite who cares little for the people he whips up into a frenzy. Can’t you see that he’s only doing this to keep himself in a (very comfortable) job? He isn’t qualified to do anything else.
The excerpt above that ostensibly came from Botha is a hoax.
Wednesday, 16 December 2009, at 19:45
Look Jacoba or whoever you are, J Malema is not an Idiot, people likeyou are idiots cause you focus more on him than yourself.
I am black and i am proud of J Malema for speaking his mind against you White people. Campanies in th old South Africa used to pay for thier white Md childrens holidays overseas and it was good. Nepotism was like breakfast those days and it was okay. When a white Male came from the army he was considered Clever enough to holda Management position in Either goverment or private sector and that was okay. We went to school to do your dities while we earned nuts becau we were Black.
that was okay, now things have changed Bro, accept it and move on, not that i agree with the way lot of things are being handled buy you People are the last people to Comment.
The wheel has Turn and you are getting all hard on wrong peeole.
you know nothing about anything.
He might not be Educated but he surely lives more comfy than you, when you busy making comment about how stubid he isyou making him more happy.
you people dont understand anything, this is Africa
Wednesday, 16 December 2009, at 19:55
@ Lebo. My name is Jacoba. Clearly you find yourself on the same level as Malema. The companies that operated in the old South Africa can hardly be considered a yard stick.
When a white male came from the army he got his backside kicked into varsity (which he had to pass first) before he got that management position.
What happened in the old South Africa was horrific, sad and something many of us (whities) fought against and many of us left the country because there was no place for us.
This whole discussion has nothing to do with colour, culture or nationality.
I have seen where Malema lives and frankly, I don’t think his life is more comfortable than mine and if it were, I wouldn’t give one iota – I do not measure myself against him.
He is a brainless, ignorant excuse for humanity.
As you, clearly, seem to be.

Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 09:51
typically, you chose one of the weakest actors to represent you, this does not surprise me. I’ve given my argument, now show me your proof. i wait with bated breath…
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 09:56
@ Lebo. Maybe you should consider how your awful spelling and grammar reflects on your capacity to be taken seriously in an argument. Now, is this as a result of English perhaps not being your mother tongue/ poor education( neither would be your fault) or that you are just plain lazy? A similar point to what Kathy was trying to illustrate about Malema.
Not that any of us use faultless spelling or grammar but that amount of errors makes it a struggle to understand the content.
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 12:59
@amandzing
chile please. that’s why its called an opinion, dont hate me because my opinion is not yours.
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 13:22
I do love how Lebo calls us “you white people” – very funny! Suddenly I’m just a white person and not an individual in my own right. Is he referring to white people when he says “you people don’t understand anything’?
If every person in the world had to go back to where their ancestors came from, there would be a giant continent in the west occupied only by American Indians, Obama would be in Kenya, all the black people overseas would have to come back to Africa and I’d be parking cheesy in England having a great time. I wonder who would have the most cause to complain then! It sure wouldn’t be “us”
It’s a silly idea, without movement between countries and continents, there would never have been any progress anywhere.
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 13:41
@ Kathy: “I’d be parking cheesy in England having a great time”, whats holding u back not to go now?, Am pretty sure u wouldnt have to worry over the JM’s like you do here in SA?
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 13:42
White ppl are like a bunch of obese people that have decided they are going to lose weight. they gained 100kg in 2 years and you want it off in 6 months. That just isn’t going to happen. but like a fat-ass person learning how exercise, you’ve got to start by walking, then just eating, then do some light weights. Until you’re back to a functional state of being, real change isn’t even possible. Whites will never change and that’s that !!!!!!!!!!
@Lebo i didn’t know whether to laugh or get serious…..so i laughed and i chuckled and then i thought about malcolm x and i raised my fist!!!!!….right on my brotha!!!!!
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 13:53
Just yesterday a “white man” in Sandton was so close to bumpin on a friends car and when hooted at, he gets his big head out of the window and says,” I can see you, stupid”…he had his wife and kids in the car, they all found nothing wrong with what he said. That’s how white people are, afta 15 years of democracy, n they come back n tell us that nothing is about the race. To them, its always about the race, look around u in yo office now n count how many Exec’s are black n please dont tell me we are not equipped enough!
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 13:58
@Darkie, shame they are going no where, they are here to stay complaining day in and day out
Thats y I will never understand blacks who look up to whites: look what they have done to tiger woods, Tiger is getting what he deserves and I’m loving it! I can’t stand his ass. That’s what he gets for messin’ with them white women and acting like his as ain’t black. Bi***h ass!
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 14:01
@ Kathy
Wow, at what you just said moments ago. Like darkie asked, what the hell is holding you back from going to England? Oh no, oops….I forgot, there are no MAIDS to be calling you MADAM and BAAS. And if there were, you wouldn’t be able to afford them, as they don’t come cheap in the UK, whereas here, our fellow black women and men are paid peanuts to clean up atter you. As always, black people will have to clean up the mess which was left by the whites. Just like what Obama is doing now. Cleaning up Bushe’s mess. Just like Mandela, Thabo Mbeki, Zuma, hell, even Malema is trying to clean up yalls MESS!!!!
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 14:05
correction, atter should be after. Finger error.
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 14:07
Come now, chaps. You’re hijacking this thread. Let me help you back into the discussion:
- give me overwhelming evidence where, anywhere in the world, nationalising the private sector has successfully benefited the country’s economy as a whole (hint: the top 10 most powerful economies have moved away from nationalising private industry, including China).
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 14:07
My brother these ppl will never change, they irritate me so much that’s y am saying that tiger is getting exactly what the hell he deserves, he wanted to play with the Snow Bunnies I hope he having fun……LMAO @ Tiger “wanna be white” Woods. And hope the girls leave him with less than he started with!
Another one bites the dust!
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 14:09
@ Kathy
Hold on, by saying “I wonder who would have the most cause to complain then! It sure wouldn’t be us”, are you implying that without you as in white people, that Black people will never ever be able to COPE without you????
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 14:38
@ Jeremy
You are quite right, there is no evidence which suggests that nationalising the private sector will benifit the country’s economy. But now, should we really throw our toys out the cot simply becuase this statement or suggestion was made by JM? The way in which people are going on, it’s as if he had threaten to bomb Helen Zille’s precious island (WC).
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 15:08
Why should we blame the latest version of whites for the way they see blacks? It has been like that from donkey years back and it will continue for quite a number of years to come. It is in their sub-concious that you can’t be criticised by a black person or have a black person as your leader. They still see black as a sign of evil.
There is however a few that I know who have been liberated from this mentality. But for the majority a big NO. As much as I would like the whites to stay in the country, I cannot stand to always here whites continually and consistently criticising everything that our black leaders are doing or saying. I would therefore join the call to say if you are not happy in the country, black or white, “Bon voyage”. Nou ek ” moer it!”
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 15:14
Hi Koos
I like they way in which you moered it…LOL
Please get me in touch with those few, who you say have been liberated. I’m yet to come across such.
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 15:21
@all you racist mo fo’s!
I don’t want to move to England. I love South Africa. Unlike you lot blaming every white person for every problem in this country, I feel SA could be one of the greatest countries in the world, if everyone worked together.
As for Tshigo’s comment, I don’t need a maid. I have a flat which I am perfectly capable of cleaning myself, but in any case if you’re against job creation then that’s your problem.
I also wasn’t implying you wouldn’t be able to cope, just that when we’re all stuck in our “own” countries and nobody is allowed to move anywhere else, then we’re not the ones that are going to be crying racism. Seems to me you’re all for apartheid now, albeit in reverse.
In any case, like I’ve said before, I doubt you see yourself as exactly the same as every single other black person in South Africa just because you’re black. I don’t see myself like every other white person and I’d thank you to stop grouping everyone together based on the colour of their skin.
@Jeremy – why does everything on pretty much any blog descend into a debate on racism? I find myself defending the colour of my skin more often than anything else. I think your blog attracts more crazy, closed-minded oddballs than anywhere outside of zasucks.
On one side there’s that refugee nut and her connections that are upset the apartheid is over and on the other, people like Tshigo, Africa and Darkie who can’t get over the fact that it happened.
Just for interest sake, how old are all you people who are complaining so bitterly?
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 15:52
@kathy : Ya ne, es waar!!!!!! and just when I thought white people are just dumb. You’re below stupid, too. Can’t find a single word in Webster to describe you. But, I’m sure it can be found under your country folks privy . . . outhouse . . . outdoor toilet.Your mental capicity isn’t right upstairs HA HA …TRUTH HURTS DON’T IT SO KILL THE IDIOTIC NOISE ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 15:57
Kathy, where in the world have you heard that a black person is racist? We are not racist, we respond to racism.
In case you conveniently forgot, there is a difference between exploitation and job creation. How many of your fellow people have actually registered their domestic workers for U.I.F and how many of them give them bonuses in December?
It’s so amazing, that when people like us, tend to disagree with people like you, it’s called reverse racism. I bet Affirmative Action is also reverse racism to you as well, hey Kathy? Please wake up and smell the Jasmin, everything IS about race. If not, then how do you explain the ever increasing figures of white people still earning more than blacks. Indians earning more than Coloured’s, Coloured’s earning more than blacks? This is despite the fact that more and more blacks are becoming educated. And when we do get this education, what do you do? You turn around and hit us with the “experience notion”. Where the hell do you expect us to get experience from, if we are fresh from University? Then you say to us, “applicant must have their own transport”. From where??? We weren’t as lucky as you were, for our parents to buy us little Citi Golf’s when we were in Matric.
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 15:58
(claps) That’s so profound.
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 15:58
long live JM chat to you all 2moro
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 16:04
@kathy: yes its was profound
Viva Tshigo tjo vi tjo long live ANC and JM
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 16:19
The thing that sickens me the most is the fact that if you want to work for the ANC,you clearly have no need for a brain and JM shows this to us on a daily bases.
I strongly believe that black people are the most racists’ people. I personally are developing allot of hate for them bases on people, sorry, dump-asses like JM.
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 16:22
ATT JM..THERE IS ONLY ONE RACE,THE HUMAN RACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thursday, 17 December 2009, at 16:25
Thsigo, you’re right! I never said this country wasn’t a bit screwed. All I’m asking is that you not put me in the same barrel with the other racist monkeys in this country. You say you’re not racist and I don’t believe that I’m racist, perhaps a lot of the time we respond to ‘perceived’ racism.
I also agree that a lot of people do exploit the people they work for. Technically UIF is only necessary if someone works for over 24 hours a month, but I think it would show good form to get it anyway. I don’t think it’s right that domestic workers and gardeners etc. are paid so poorly, but I can’t do much about it myself. Rest assured that one day if I decide that I’m too lazy to do my own house work I will pay someone properly, incl. UIF and I will give them a Christmas bonus. I’m not mean.
Unfortunately, all companies want experience, and it’s not just black people that get shafted. I hated that. I used to get super annoyed. It’s a catch 22. No experience means no job, but no job means no experience. A lot of the time the people with the experience are hired and they leave for a “better opportunity” a few months down the line. It gets my goat.
Yes, I was lucky. I got a car when I turned 18. I don’t discount the fact that I have had good opportunities, but I’m thankful for them. Some people are better off, others not but I’m not going to apologise for being somewhere in the middle.
You’re also correct when you say that most things are about race but is it wrong that I wish that race was not a defining factor? Can we not be proud of our heritage but also proud to share our lives with people of so many different cultures and backgrounds?
Why can’t we all just get along?
Friday, 18 December 2009, at 07:51
hi Kathy, you seem to know alot
i am not really interested in politics and really i never knew much about Malemas until this interview and i gotta love him, he speaks the truth for free…. Deborah met her match and she could not handle herself and that is quite evident, whoever believes differently is in denial. Kathy why not mention the fact that this same Malema has built a church for his old community out of his own pocket and a house for a certain family…. and like he said for who is the lavishing life reserved for????????????????????? Cause i know who lives in upmarket areas and who shops all year around…… do you???? cummon lets face facts here and start standing for the truth so that we can move forward….
Friday, 18 December 2009, at 08:38
Haha – I don’t think it was Deborah that couldn’t handle herself!! She was playing Malema and if you don’t see it, you’re as dof as he is.
Oh, by the way – Malema didn’t build anything out of his own pocket and if you think it’s a great achievement to shop all year round, you are even more ignorant than him. Err …. correction. You would have to be if you support him, wouldn’t you.
Friday, 18 December 2009, at 08:57
Hi Kathy, Hi all
@ Bruce
I guess the whites who are also part of the ANC have no brains too, huh? You can hate us all you want, we really don’t give a rats a$$ and it really doesn’t make a difference in our lives. All you can do, is carrying on hating us till you get blue in the face, that’s the only achievment you’ll ever get. So roll over…..
@ Kathy
If two individuals, one black one white, both graduate from University and both having accomplished the same Degree. Both of these individuals get invited for a job interview. Both get successful in acquiring the same position. Why is it that the white graduate will always get a salary much higher than that of the black one? Why? Simple. Because of colour. That is why young and up coming black professionals will continue to leave these companies, and look for, oh what did you call it again? “Better Opportunities”. In order for us to reach the level that, our white counterparts have long beat us to. And THAT, my dear, we will never apologize for.
Friday, 18 December 2009, at 09:12
Tshigo – I wasn’t aware that black people were paid less than white people with exactly the same qualifications. I wasn’t talking about black people moving on to better opportunities, I was actually talking about the people who are hired for their experience. In any case, it feels like I could say the sky was blue and you’d want to find something wrong with my statement just to disagree with me. In any case how do you know people are paid more or less? Is this just assumed or do you have proof?
I’m over and out on this debate, I’ve got things to finish off before I shut down for the year.
I wish you all a merry Christmas and a safe and happy holiday.
Friday, 18 December 2009, at 09:21
Some of the comments aimed at Kathy are from trolls.
Don’t bite the bait.
Friday, 18 December 2009, at 09:21
Oh please Kathy give me a break…..and yes, the fact that Membathisi Mdladlana said he was going to crack down and name and shame companies who are doing exactly that, is proof enough. It’s happening Kathy, and you know it.
Have a wonderful festive season and take care. Cheers.
Friday, 18 December 2009, at 10:59
As long as racist attitudes persist from any side, we will never move forward as a nation.

Friday, 18 December 2009, at 14:04
well Mr Jacobus, you are clearly and evidently racist, you imbasil…. what is it that you white people want??? you want us to suffer in silence in our own land!!!!! that would satisfy you wouldnt it???? i have nothing against whites but i can tell you that majority are pretentious and very caniving, you cant stand black people that stand up for the truth e.g Steve Bhiko, Robert Sebokwe… go back and see how those 2 men were silenced… i dont need to know politics to know that the white man is still ruling and people like Malema scare you and that is why it is best to attack him, well get with the programme this is the NEW S.A , we dont wanna rule just REALLY WANNA GET TO A POINT OF RECONCILIATION, which seems VERY difficult for you guys to do… and by the way i am coloured, so now sides for me thanks, just the truth!!!!!!
Friday, 18 December 2009, at 15:22
@ anon. Firstly, I am not Mr. Jacobus – I am Jacoba – female.
Secondly, I certainly don’t want anyone to suffer – not black, yellow or white – more particularly black because my white children are just fine but my black god-daughter will have a hell of a time if people like you run the country. Luckily she can spell, unlike you.
Thirdly, I know how Steve Biko and Robert Sebokwe were silenced (I was one of those students that protested it during my university years) – in much the same way as Bianca Warburton was killed. However, if we continue killing one another, we will get nowhere and South Africa will go down the same slippery slope as the rest of Africa. Nelson Mandela was the greatest leader South Africa ever had but sadly his legacy is being perverted by people like Malema.
Fourthly, Malema doesn’t scare me – he should scare you, though because he doesn’t want reconciliation – the only thing he wants is to scare you into believing that you have a raw deal because, as long as you believe that, he can stand on the proverbial soap box, screaming profanities and getting paid a lot of money out of a budget that could have taken care of many, many needy people.
You should think, very carefully, about electing him – neither I, nor my children will need to stay here when he screws up the country – but you will because no other country(outside Africa) will grant visas to people like you ….. except, maybe, Canada.
Friday, 18 December 2009, at 15:28
Jacoba, if JM doesn’t want reconciliation as you say, what do you think he wants?
Friday, 18 December 2009, at 17:15
@ Tshigo, I think he wants attention and then, of course, power and money. He’s enjoying the attention he’s getting – that’s about it. There are so many incredibly talented black men (and women) in this country that I’m astounded that he’s been allowed to make a laughing stock of ANCYL.
Why are the intelligent, talented wise young men not standing up and filling the shoes of the men that fought so hard for our democracy?
It freaks me out when I see guys (and there are many in this country) who can stand up and become world leaders ….. but don’t. Why are they not pushed forward??
Saturday, 19 December 2009, at 08:11

Jacoba first and foremost, NOTHING SCARES ME. i dont live in fear. i am a child of the Almighty and i can live and will be accepted ANYWHERE in this world. If you bragging about the fact that you can pack up and leave then stop bickering about Malema and just leave already, one less loser in town… Fact is and fact will remain. S.A will never go back to where it used to be and yes everyone loves Mandela cause ultimately instead of taking revenge he, encouraged living as one, regardless of the colour of your skin. however you people tend to mistake that as a weakness and that my dear is where the problem lies. some of us can just see right through ALOT of you. Please bare in mind that not all white people are the same but atleast 90% have a hidden agenda. just for the record, there are people in every race that have their little group who dislike people of a certain race or colour but you need to understand that this behavior was introduced by apartheid and hence it still continues in these days but people try to colour coat it and cover it up… the issue of race and colour needs to die out, people need to get over apartheid and move on, but how do we reconcile without acknowledging???…
Monday, 21 December 2009, at 13:39
Bickering is allowed. It’s commonly known as “free speech”.
Who is “you people”? Be careful, now. Unless, of course, you like slippery slopes.
Wrong. Every single white person is indeed completely identical. This is obvious.
Baseless and idiotic conspiracy theorist alert!
Monday, 21 December 2009, at 14:28
@ Anon – Jeremy just said whatever I said.
I will ignore your misinterpretation now because you bore me and I’m tired of playing with you now.
I was thrilled to see in the newspapers (who probably all have white editors that hate Malema) this weekend that the majority of the ANC supporters also loathe the little mongrel.
Why don’t you get it in your head that Malema is the answer to all right wing whities’ prayers – if he carries on at this rate, the ANC will continue to haemorrhage voters …..
Monday, 21 December 2009, at 14:29
Correction – top line “…. whatever I wanted to say.”

Guys, Jeremi, this is brilliant. Very f………. (can i use any words?). It is very flipping wonderful man. I watched the show that day and i actually got a little bit worried about the “communist, fat, heinekken drinking” one being our president sometime. Scared actually.

————————————————————————-
@Tshigo for the above nonsence.
I tend to disagree. I’m black yes, an Engineer, and the division i work for in my company I’m the only black guy there amongst 13 white dudes, and 2 Asian dudes. As far as i remember each one of us earns their salaries at the end of the month, and yes, I do not know about the other guys’ salaries (white or what), but as for me I am getting paid the monies that was advertised in the paper, and the monies that was agreed upon when we negotiated. The thing is, if i’d not seen the advert, I’d not have known about the Job, and if it was the case of feeling i was being underpaid, I wouldnt even have bothered to apply. So, what you’re talking about is baseless really.
I’m in my post because i love my job (hey, I know I’m one of those assholes you do not like, but who cares), and tell you what, the guys are work with are just a crazy wonderful bunch that I see nada wrong with them. Yes, there’s a few professional and personal spats but no racial lines are skipped because we all work as a team. So, yeah, pluck it and just shut the fluck up!! And in case you’re wondering, I voted for the ANC………. But apart from me being in that “white dominated” field, what about the guys in Diepsloot, Ebony Park, Hilbrow and the rest who are not as lucky as me and you? What the hell are you doing about it?
Tuesday, 2 February 2010, at 11:52
@ Tumi
Archive! This is 20turnaround, I don’t have time to be debating on issues that are sooo 2009.
Tuesday, 2 February 2010, at 13:17
On second thought….
@ Tumi, I might as well moer it!
You are so ignorant and blindfolded that you do not see things just under your nose.for starters, you are the only black dude in your division amongst 13 white guys….is it due to the reason that there are fewer black engineers compared to whites?…..I doubt that cause statistics says different….In 2004, almost half (45%) of all engineers and technologists and a third of technicians were black(Du Toit & Roodt, 2006).Only 21% of these are employed in public sector while 78% are employed in private sector.Don’t make me think that the company you are working for has made you a favor by hiring you as black as you are!True, you earn a salary that has been advertised but that doesn’t guarantee that you are getting what was duly to you…..that is until you see what was truly budgeted for that post.Secondly,I do not think you can be at par with a white dude when negotiating for a package…..your mindset says that. There is something you always have to put in mind, the government is lead by black people, yes, but the wealth of this country is still in white people’s hands! There is no way you can earn more that a white dude doing the same job as you.Look at this scenario and I believe you have come across it or will soon,a white dude comes fresh from school, you teach him how to do the job and the next thing he is your senior……ask yourself why!
As for you working well with your colleagues, well… good for you but has it ever occurred to you that they might be tolerating you,in reality they don’t like you since your brothers and uncles have taken over “their government”,invaded their house holds and can now get involved with their white mothers and sisters???You work as a team cause it’s one of the basic questions you will get in any interview,if you can be a team player…..you have no choice!!You deserve an applause for voting for the ANC….it has made it possible for you to work in your so called “white dominated field”….say thanks to them otherwise it would only be a dream if Botha was still holding the reigns!!!!!Black engineers your age I know are signing their own pay cheques….maybe you should start looking into that!!You are the engineer,I ask you….what are you doing for the previously disadvantaged community…are you ploughing back to them or what?
Remove those blindfolds you have on your eyes, come back to mother earth and face reality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tuesday, 2 February 2010, at 15:26
@ Tshigo
Nuff said. You assume my History, which you do not know. I’m actually the Head of the Division I’m talking about. And as for Politics, I was never really affected, and talking of statistics, why is it that there was an outcry for skills shortages in the very same field that I am? Was it the white man denying “me and you” the opportunity? I beg to differ……… Yes these guys did wrong, but why don’t you forgive them. I mean our own Mr Pres is about to pardon the Cock guy or what’s his name, and why, because he has forgiven…………
Wednesday, 3 February 2010, at 14:00
@ Tumi
Look, you might be the “Head of that Division”. But honestly now, tell me that when you try to put policies and strategies in place, you are actually given the green light, with no questions asked. I think not. You are probably just a “trophy” recruit. Another sad window dressing tale.
I can’t believe what I’m reading. How can you say you were never affected?? hm, how?You have just exposed the level of your ignorance with every word you think and write. There have been Dialectics (Tension between conflicting ideas) in South Africa amongst Africans, Dutch and English people which gave birth to Apartheid (devils philosophy, with rules of slavery), how dare can any South African from all ethnical groups claim that they were never affected by this philosophy, unless you are really ignorant to life in general “udinga usizo, udinga ukuhabula”, and thereafter you need to get psychological help.
Wednesday, 3 February 2010, at 14:13
@Tshigo – you really love hanging on to the past, don’t you? Everywhere in the world people have had to let go of yesterday and begin again. Hell, even in personal situations people have to say goodbye to the past and start afresh.
Do you see the Congolese still hung up about Belgium, the Indians still pissed off with the Brits, The Mexicans with the Spanish and so on and so forth. Man, if you really want to go into it, half of the African countries should take issue with the other half because they’ve all murdered and maimed one another at one point in history.
Stop treasuring all that hatred and go out prove yourself – become president, it shouldn’t be too difficult for you.
Wednesday, 3 February 2010, at 14:16
Thanks for that wonderful poetry Jacoba…….
Wednesday, 3 February 2010, at 14:45
Mmmmm – never thought I was one, actually – will look into it
Monday, 8 February 2010, at 13:04
What a wonderfull video clip here.

Comment Please?
Monday, 8 February 2010, at 13:07
and oh yes i am an african that loves my country and my people and hope that before i die that someone with real heart will fix our country right…someone who consider life over money.
Monday, 8 February 2010, at 13:10
When you say “our kids”, I assume you are referring to “your white kids”, right?
They will laugh at “our kids”, black kids, because, they would have learnt that from home.
Monday, 8 February 2010, at 13:12
@ Blimy
You? and African???? I very much doubt that.
Monday, 8 February 2010, at 13:22
Well thank you if i may come out to sound like a white guy….LOL
Monday, 8 February 2010, at 13:27
@ Tshigo – you have a hangup about the past and you’re not going to let it go – not in your lifetime. Lucky I have many good black friends like Blimy – classy, educated, well read and keen on building a new country – and there are plenty around.
You’re behaving like Malema and the whole country knows what an idiot he is.
Monday, 8 February 2010, at 13:31
Yay!! Give yourself a pat on the back Jacoba…..
Monday, 8 February 2010, at 13:39
My my…why are we fighting over words…don`t you know that it all started when two couldn`t sit in one room cause of differnt views…one is always right and the other is always wrong.Look at the results of such conflict today.Rape ,murder , theft ,corruption ,Fraud …ect.
It is sad that color is always the case to try and sort out our differences.
Put three kids together in one room…one black one white one colored.
Do you see how well they get along cause they don`t SEEEEEE color. It`s US that polute their young minds with Crap that doesn`t even make sence at the end of the day
Monday, 8 February 2010, at 13:44
Sheesh Tsigo! Kids in our family are taught not to laugh at people. And they are scolded if they do, regardless of the race involved. You need to move on. Accept that South Africans of all colour are trying to move forward. There are idiots of all colour who are trying to stop that. Do you want to help take this country to the next level or do you want to be one of those idiots?
Monday, 8 February 2010, at 14:29
@ Tshigo – this one’s for you.
Tuesday, 9 February 2010, at 11:57
Julius Malema…
If the supporting parties view this guy as a future presedent of SA i fear that we can say good buy to our beautiful country. Before you go and vote for another under educated racist, please compare SA with other countries around the world and the leaders that lead them.
I think alot of people instill too much hope in the likes of Zuma and Julius, this overload of hope throws off their logical judgement of what leaders of a country are supposed to do and how they must counduct their behaviour.
Apartehied is over!!!!! if these guys want to keep on throwing rasicist allegations at EVERY SINGLE thing they cannot answer, ie. i dont know=you are racist.????? I mean really?? dont you guys see that this person is so far from what a leader must be.
There was apartheid in america aswell – Now there is the first black president . Obama, and wow he is someone to look up to, he isnt racist, every person of color, black, white brown red and blue, look up to him and see it as a good change. Awesomely this is similar to what mandela stood for and put everything aside. This made people look up to him, again every color…. Unfortunatly Mandelas successors are too power hungry, have no education and have no clue how to run a country. WE NEED another MADIBA.
The thing with moving forward is to leave everything behind. We must work together. The more you argue about how you were treated in the past the more we will all live in the past!!
Dont you see this??? As soon as all the people that lived in apartehied die off, i beleave the youth will realise the way forward as they are not being told time and time again from a young age that the WHITES were bad and all the horrible things that happened. Not just this, but because the whites were so bad it is “our” right to claim everything, and take control of power we cannot handle yet as its all about power and not responsibility : ESKOM and SAA…. If people apointed to these positions were well educated, not corrupt, and had a sense of resopnsibility then YES give them the position. It makes me laugh, its like a lucky draw.
Oh and one more thing, the indians of this country were also affected by the apartheid, but they have moved on… So STOP being so selfish you were not the only ones!!! move on, as if we dont move forward there will be problems, and SA will be shunned apon by the rest of the world and finally be cut off as we dont know how to act and are looked at and laughed at by the rest of the world. “Look at those South Africans, they just dont get it, what a waste of time!”
By the way “Moving forward” is a chain reaction!!!!
Forget the past > Live together > become more productive > create new buisnesses > new jobs created > More support for education > more people graduating from collage > technology improves > established connections around the world > economy grows stronger than the dollar > South Africa has done it!!!!!!
I hope that we can live together in this counrty in the future.

Khensani
Do you even know what you wrote down?
“Malema is a very clever individual” … That may be tru if he finnished his schooling. Unfortunatly you need to be aware of how the CURRENT world works and to do this you need to be educated… i know it is a sad fact but true. How can some one run a country when he/she dosent know how things work and thinks that they can make up their own ways… There is a reason the scociety has come this far and DEVELOPED. So he may be clever, and i reackon he could tell you all about what he thinks of the world, or his world.
If you ast me i think he is a crasey retard!!
Just listen to how he contradicts himself above. The problem is that people like you have a have a BRICK WALL in your head and you over look what is actually going on. Get over it, grow some balls and stop being brain washed by these idiots. Or else you will be come one your self. One track minded people NEVER go any where and never succeed in the long run.

Ok, i didn’t read through ALL of the comments (i’m supposed to be working
) but i do regularly read the comments section of these kinds of articles and usually they devolve into pointless racial mud-slinging.
Well done to the earlier contributors, KATHY and SELLO for keeping the arguments rational. And well done to everyone else who hasn’t let their emotions get in the way and made a comment that adds some value to this section.
Yeah, we all feel strongly in one way or another about our government and some of its controversial characters, but the government doesn’t make this country what it is. We do. And when we can talk about things like this without insulting each other, it gives me a lot of hope.
Wednesday, 10 February 2010, at 16:43
oh oh…we the People stand for Justice and truth. Our government tells us to shut up so they can stand on our heads. Yours too.
One example…If the government legalizes tik…wouldn’t you say something to even try and make a dent in their heads.
Wednesday, 10 February 2010, at 16:47
but …what goes up…must come down…then maybe we will have a trust worthy goverment.
Thursday, 11 February 2010, at 13:24
Hi people,
This always turns into a race issue in SA.
However, a lot of people don’t know that us ‘whities’ voted against apartheid in 1990…
Now why still in 2010 we are seen to be looking down on on black people cos we are not but everyone keeps carrying on about it which is getting a bit long in the tooth….
* No communist would ever in a million years would live a life of excess (upper class) such as Julius, and his own followers just follow blindly along as all he is – is a crowd pleaser…
* White people are very active in uplifting underprivelidged black adults/youths/children, I know this cos I am one of them & seeing as tho we are on the topic, our numbers are far greater than black people doing the same from our middle class of society

A small note:
The referendum was held in 1992, and the stats are:
The results, on a turnout of 85.1%, were:
Result Number of votes Percentage
Yes 1,924,186 68.73%
No 875,619 31.27%

Why can’t we the public stand up(and i mean really stand together),to fight the people who run and represent us the TAX paying public. We need to fight and have massive rallys like most communities who go up in arms and display thier disgust for our governments public works and services(which we the public pay for with our TAX,and is spent by corupt fat cats – as our youth league represtive) We the public need to fight as one against them and not our brothers/sisters from another mother. Man it be nice to beat these guys and let us take control as they can’t!!!!!!!!!

@ Donn112
So, Donn112, you want to take control? How exactly do you plan on doing that? It’s so damn easy to say all these things from a distance. You are blabbering on, what have YOU done to “TAKE CONTROL”, since your last comment on the 3rd of March, what??
